InvesTaiwan today (25th) approved additional investments by 5 companies, including UVAT under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan; Sushi Express under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations; 8yaya Food Co., Ltd., Clean Air Technology Limited, and Rayee Technology Ltd. under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs. At present, the three major programs for investing in Taiwan has attracted over NT$2.257 trillion in investments from 1,472 companies, and will create 151,618 domestic employment opportunities. A total of 307 Taiwanese businesses invested approximately NT$1.2449 trillion under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and created 87,626 employment opportunities.A total of 187 domestic corporations invested approximately NT$552 billion under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations, and created 27,957 employment opportunities.A total of 978 SMEs invested approximately NT$460 billion under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs, and created 36,035 domestic employment opportunities. The applications of 20 companies are still pending review.
UVAT specializes in the development and manufacturing of vacuum sputtering machines and etching machines and provides vacuum sputtering OEM services. It markets products around the world under its own brand "UVAT." In recent years, the company utilized its competitive advantages of high flexibility, high customization, and integrated automation systems, and focused on the production and sales of high-end semiconductor packaging and FOPLP process sputtering and etching equipment, which have been adopted by major European and domestic semiconductor manufacturers. Since vacuum sputtering and etching are both vacuum dry processes, which do not produce air or water pollution, are in line with environmental protection trends, and have a wide range of applications. UVAT decided to invest more than NT$1.5 billion to build its head office in Daya District, Taichung City and expand R&D and production as the market grows.In addition to using smart equipment to improve production efficiency, the new head office will be planned as a green building and install an energy management system and rooftop solar panels, in hopes of gradually reducing carbon emissions. This investment will help the company increase market share, expand applications in semiconductors, IC substrates, high-end packaging and optical industries, and enhance the company's core competitiveness.
Sushi Express is a multinational restaurant chain with more than 600 stores around the world. It owns 5 catering brands, including Sushi Express, Sushi gogo, Sushi Plus, Teishoku 8, and MAGiC TOUCH. As the largest conveyor belt sushi brand in Taiwan, fresh ingredients are delivered to various stores at low temperatures by the Sushi Express fleet, providing consumers with affordable, fresh and delicious sushi. In order to enhance its market competitiveness, Sushi Express plans to invest more than NT$6.3 billion to build a new factory and intelligent production lines in Taoyuan, and install cloud-based smart management systems and automated warehousing to optimize production processes and improve product quality. Solar panels will be installed in the new factory for carbon reduction and energy conservation, in hopes of protecting the environment and saving energy.
8yaya Food Co., Ltd. mainly produces high-quality pineapple cakes, handmade biscuits, and other pastries. It was recognized in the "Taiwan Best 100," and its products do not have any chemical additives and use local high-quality ingredients, such as Alishan black tea, Liugui Shishanyuan's pepper, etc. The company is committed to providing consumers with healthy and delicious products. In response to business growth and to continue developing new products, 8yaya Food Co., Ltd. plans to set up a production center in Chiayi Machouhou Industrial Park and use smart equipment to improve process efficiency and stabilize quality.In addition, the new production center will install solar power equipment and use energy-saving lamps, in hopes of creating a sustainable business environment. The expected investment amount is NT$180 million, which will create 10 domestic employment opportunities.
Clean Air Technology Limited specializes in the production of ceramic fiber filter tubes and ceramic fiber catalytic filter tubes, which can filter and remove hazardous substances from industrial waste gas, prevent air pollution, recover heat, and reduce environmental burden. Optimistic about the business opportunities brought by the rising environmental awareness in various countries, Clean Air Technology decided to expand production capacity and expand product applications. It plans to recruit 147 domestic employees, invest NT$530 million to build a new factory in Kaohsiung Hofa Industrial Park, and install an intelligent production system to manage purchase orders and maintain product quality in real time. In addition, the new factory will be installed with solar power generation facilities to implement the concept of sustainable development.
Rayee Technology Ltd. mainly develops and produces security technology products, such as GPS driving safety warning, event data recorders, GPS trackers, radar speed detectors, and fingerprint locks. Its products are sold in over ten countries, including the United States and Canada, under the brands "CONQUEROR," "Radareye," "BLINDER," and "HAWKS," and have obtained product patent certificates in multiple countries. Rayee Technology Ltd. plans to build a factory in Chiayi Machouhou Industrial Park, add a production line for driving safety warning products, and introduce ERP systems and automated control assembly equipment, in order to improve product quality and management efficiency. The new factory will be planned as a green building, install solar power generation equipment, and use exhaust gas purification systems, in hopes of achieving production that is friendlier to the environment. The investment amount exceeds NT$400 million and will create 40 new domestic employment opportunities in Chiayi.
