InvesTaiwan today (14th) approved six small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand their investments in Taiwan, including Gaius Automotive Inc., Dicha Fasteners Mfg. Co., Ltd., Gwo-Lian Machinery Industry Co., Ltd., a well-known egg product company, Shenng Mwuh Enterprise Co., Ltd., and June First Co., Ltd. To date, the Three Major Programs for Investing in Taiwan have attracted over NT$2.5122 trillion in investments from 1,658 companies, and are expected to create 160,179 domestic employment opportunities. Of which, the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs has attracted approximately NT$571.3 billion in investments from 1,124 SMEs, creating 40,523 domestic employment opportunities; applications of 17 companies are currently pending review.
Gaius Automotive Inc. specializes in the research, development, and manufacturing of electric vehicles and smart logistics solutions. Its self-developed and self-manufactured Rapide 3 commercial electric tricycle features a high payload capacity (200 kg or 1,000 liters), long range (180 km), a low center of gravity, and an exclusive patented tilting design. It is also integrated with smart energy and fleet management systems. In addition to obtaining certification under the European L5e-B commercial vehicle safety regulations, it has won the German iF Design Award and successfully entered international markets under the Gaius brand. In response to the global transition to green energy and smart technologies, the company will invest nearly NT$400 million in Wuri District, Taichung City, to establish a smart electric vehicle production line. The facility will incorporate smart warehousing, automated assembly and testing equipment, as well as automated transport technology and a manufacturing execution system (MES) to achieve digitalized and intelligent manufacturing. Gaius is committed to driving the electrification of logistics and sustainable energy development through innovative technology.
Dicha Fasteners Mfg. Co., Ltd. specializes in construction-related hardware and has long supplied high-quality products to the U.S. and European markets. As its existing production lines have reached full capacity, the company plans to invest over NT$300 million in a new factory in the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park to strengthen its global market competitiveness. The new facility will integrate advanced smart manufacturing equipment, including high-end precision die-casting machines, automated assembly lines, and an MES to ensure precise and stable production processes. Additionally, the company will implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to integrate production management and use Internet of Machines technology to monitor equipment operations, improving production efficiency and stability. It will also adopt heat energy recovery technology to enhance energy reuse and install solar power generation equipment to reduce carbon emissions, upholding its green production principles.
Gwo-Lian Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. has been deeply engaged in wire machinery manufacturing for over half a century, dedicated to providing turnkey solutions for smart manufacturing and supporting industrial upgrades. The company first applied for the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs in 2019 and secured additional funding for a second project in 2020. Now, it has launched a third project, investing nearly NT$600 million to establish an AI Smart Electric Vehicle and Aerospace Materials Factory in the Kaohsiung Science Park under the Southern Taiwan Science Park. The new facility will incorporate smart production technologies to comprehensively enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Additionally, it will feature solar power generation equipment and energy-efficient, low-carbon emission machinery, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint. The company is actively leveraging digital transformation to strengthen its competitiveness and achieve its ESG sustainability goals.
A well-known egg product company with extensive experience in egg supply chain management—spanning egg washing, liquid egg processing, and food safety technologies, is aligning with government policies promoting comprehensive egg washing standards to ensure food safety. The company is constructing an egg washing, grading, packaging, collection, and processing facility in Changhua County. The new plant will introduce advanced European washing, grading, and packaging equipment, as well as digital management and traceability technology to drive industry upgrades and enhance food safety and market competitiveness. Furthermore, the new facility will incorporate solar power generation and smart energy management systems, demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Shenng Mwuh Enterprise Co., Ltd. is dedicated to the field of glass processing, with internationally certified products used in projects such as the Guandong Market, Gushan Fish Market, and Pingtung Civic Park. To enhance its production capacity and competitiveness, the company first applied for the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs in 2020 and is now investing nearly NT$200 million in its second project in Renwu District, Kaohsiung City. The investment includes the introduction of smart machinery for insulated glass production, storage systems, and automated guided vehicles. It is also gradually implementing Internet of Things technology to achieve digitalized production data management. By integrating an ERP system and utilizing a radio-frequency identification technology to track product flow, the company aims to adopt an MES in the future for comprehensive process integration, optimizing production management. In terms of energy conservation and carbon reduction, the new facility plans to implement an energy management system and promote a zero-waste circular economy, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and environmental friendliness.
June First Co., Ltd. is a renowned Taiwanese bakery company that operates the June 1st brand.
