A total of 358 Taiwanese businesses invested approximately NT$1.4795 trillion under the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and created 96,230 employment opportunities. A total of 227 domestic corporations invested approximately NT$630.7 billion under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations, and created 29,482 employment opportunities. The Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs has attracted 1,206 SMEs to invest a total of approximately NT$619.4 billion, and created 42,242 employment opportunities. The applications of 20 companies are currently pending review.
Taiwan Sakura Corporation is the largest kitchen and bathroom brand in Taiwan and the first listed company in the domestic kitchen and bathroom industry. The company has focused on the Taiwan market for many years, and continued to implement the development strategy of “HOME in O.N.E” in recent years, gradually expanding from its two core businesses of kitchen and bathroom appliances and overall kitchen to water purification equipment and whole-house decoration. This has formed complete home life services as it provides one-stop solutions covering kitchens, bathrooms, water, and all spaces at home to meet the diverse needs of consumers when they are at home. In response to the trend of global supply chain restructuring, smart manufacturing, and net-zero transition, Taiwan Sakura Corporation has once again applied for the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and plans to invest NT$1.03 billion to build a modern smart factory in Taichung. The new plant will implement the concept of lean manufacturing, and integrate smart manufacturing equipment, automated production systems, manufacturing execution system (MES), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to comprehensively improve productivity, product quality, and supply chain management capabilities. It will develop a smart manufacturing base that is highly efficient, flexible, and resilient to support product innovation, integrated services for home life, and expansion into domestic and international markets. In addition, the company will continue to implement energy conservation, carbon reduction, and green manufacturing measures to reduce carbon emissions from its operations, gradually developing towards low-carbon smart factories to achieve its sustainability and net-zero transition goals.
Linde Lienhwa Industrial Gases Co., Ltd. is a major industrial gas manufacturer in Taiwan. It has shown its commitment to providing industrial gases needed by various industries over the years, and its products cover electronic-grade gases used in high-tech and semiconductor industries, as well as gases needed by the healthcare and food industries, laying a solid foundation for the development of Taiwan's technology industry and consumer applications. To increase its gas production capacity and service capacity, Linde Lienhwa has once again applied for the Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan, and plans to build a new factory in the Central Taiwan Science Park and expand its production lines in the Tainan plant. The company will invest a total of approximately NT$11.38 billion and is expected to create nearly 100 domestic employment opportunities. The investment plan focuses on AI applications and energy-saving transition, and will introduce a smart production management system to comprehensively optimize manufacturing efficiency and product quality. At the same time, the company will continue to reduce carbon emissions by purchasing green electricity, introducing energy efficient equipment, and strengthening energy management mechanisms. This investment will not only improve the industrial gas self-sufficiency of Taiwan's domestic industries and strengthen the resilience of the semiconductor and high-tech supply chain, but also drive the development of smart manufacturing and low-carbon transformation, securing Taiwan's important position in the global semiconductor industry.
A major optics semiconductor manufacturer in Hsinchu Science Park is a global leader in wafer-level optical component technology. The company has dedicated years of effort in advanced image sensing and micro-optical component manufacturing processes. Its products are widely used in mobile communications and automotive imaging markets, and it continues to develop cutting-edge technologies, such as AR glasses waveguides and AI silicon photonics. To maintain its competitive advantage, the company has submitted a second application for the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations, and will expand its investment in Taiwan. The company plans to invest approximately NT$5.8 billion to expand its advanced image sensing and micro-optical component production lines. The new production line will incorporate next-generation imaging and non-imaging sensing, AR glasses waveguides, and AI optical transmission equipment, so as to improve process efficiency and intelligent logistics management capabilities. At the same time, it will actively implement green manufacturing, increase the percentage of renewable energy use, and establish a comprehensive wastewater and waste recycling management mechanism to balance production efficiency and environmental sustainability. This investment will help the company develop nano-optics, strengthen its mass production capabilities and core technologies for next-generation optical sensing and new AR and AI application products, and further drive the upgrade of Taiwan's optical sensing and semiconductor supply chain.
The tea supplier specializes in tea blending technology and has the ability to develop customized flavors. Its main products include commercial tea, tea bags, and designed tea gifts. It had adopted the B2B model and is a supplier for international chain beverage brands, successfully expanding into overseas markets. In response to the booming bubble tea industry, the company plans to invest nearly NT$200 million to build a new factory in southern Taiwan, and will hire 21 local employees to enhance production capacity and product competitiveness. The new factor will incorporate AI manufacturing technology and integrate procurement, production scheduling, quality inspection, and inventory management procedures to improve production efficiency and quality stability. The company will also install solar power generation facilities to gradually achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction targets. This investment will enable the company to step up its smart manufacturing and sustainability strategies, while enhancing the international competitiveness of Taiwan's tea industry.
