The Ministry of Economic Affairs Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration and India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises hosted the Taiwan-India SME Cooperation Forum 2026 Aug. 20 in Taipei City concurrently with Automation Taipei, according to the MOEA.
MSME Secretary Bharat Khera led officials, ten enterprises and public associations in dialogue with over 100 businesses from the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association, Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders Association and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry. One-to-one bilateral matchmaking talks were arranged for forum participants.
The MOEA reported that discussions centered on artificial intelligence applications and smart manufacturing. The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association, Electronic Industries Association of India, Taiwan’s Fair Friend Group and TOYO Automation Co. shared manufacturing industry upgrades and evolution in electronics manufacturing from assembly to AI-powered production.
Deputy MOEA Minister Ho Chin-tsang noted that India is a major emerging market and an important partner for Taiwan companies. He added that it has a huge market, exceptional personnel and a fast-growing demand for manufacturing.
Taiwan has a solid foundation in automation, electronics manufacturing, information and communication technologies and precision machinery, which enables bilateral SMEs to cooperate in product application and technology exchange, creating further business opportunities.
Khera stated that AI and smart manufacturing enhanced SME production quality, planning and supply chain management. He anticipated that the forum would facilitate further substantive collaboration.
