The MOEA established the “Regulations for the Industrial R&D Promotion Loan Program” in order to encourage R&D investment, promote industrial innovation, and strengthen enterprise competitiveness. Funds are provided based on review of applications. Reference materials are available that provide details on the program. Operational activities such as contract management are carried out by a specialized project office within the MOEA in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.
Applicable industries for the Industrial R&D Promotion Loan Program
- Internet industry: Companies that provide specialized services such as dial-up services, dedicated line services, connection services, web-based multimedia content services, system application services for organizations or individuals via the internet.
- Manufacturing: Companies that manufacture or process goods.
- Technical services industry: This includes areas such as industrial creativity, R&D, design, inspection, testing, quality management, process improvement, automation engineering, electronic services, resource reuse, pollution prevention, energy management, intellectual property transactions, entrepreneurial management, and other specialized technology and consulting industries.
- Distribution and logistics: This refers to the wholesale, retail and logistics industries.
- Cultural creative industries: This refers to industries that involve creativity or culture through the creation or application of intellectual property. Such projects should have the potential for at least one of the following: creates job opportunities, enhances aesthetics of the public or improves the living environment. This includes many industries, such as visual arts, music & performing arts, cultural assets utilization and exhibitions, crafts, film, radio and television, publishing, advertising, product design, visual communication design, branded fashion, architectural design, digital content, creative lifestyle, popular music, cultural content and other industries as designated by the Central Government’s competent authority.
