Well-known fitness center chain World Gym has been performing brilliantly and is keen on becoming even more successful. Having spent more than ten years in the fitness business, World Gym Taiwan CEO John Caraccio has been immensely successful in a field that he takes an interest.
In spite of the fact that many fitness chains have closed down in the past as a result of poor operating strategies, Caraccio contends that there is still plenty of room to grow in Taiwan's fitness industry. It is undeniable that the vigorous development of the fitness industry in every modernized country has contributed greatly to the physical health of the people in these countries. Consequently, the success of this industry depends on whether the management of the fitness chains views the industry from a long-term perspective and adopts the correct strategies.
Caraccio is very upbeat about Taiwan's fitness market. Starting from October 1, 2010, World Gym officially takes over Taiwan's California Fitness (CF). After the acquisition, Taiwan's CF has been replaced by World Gym Fitness Centers.
According to Caraccio, World Gym has acquired CF with the aim of strengthening its presence in northern Taiwan. 24 Hours Fitness, the company to which CF belongs, is one of the world's biggest fitness chains and has accumulated much experience. The fact that both companies share a similar corporate culture makes it easier for them to merge their Taiwan operations. After the acquisition, World Gym will boost the number of its locations, membership, and will be able to enjoy an improved cost-benefit ratio in areas ranging from management to marketing.
Although there are 21 World Gym Fitness centers in Taiwan so far, Caraccio's objective is to open seven more centers before the end of 2012 and to float World Gym in Taiwan within three to five years to raise the management and service levels of Taiwan's fitness industry so that consumers can enjoy improved, specialized fitness services.
World Gym Fitness Centers was founded in Los Angeles in 1976 by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joe Gold. It is one of the world's biggest fitness chains and Taiwan's biggest fitness chain. Until now, World Gym Fitness Centers owns a total of 21 centers located in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung.
